Kochi - Backwaters 85 km
We begin our adventure with a relaxed ride from Kochi to Alleppey, giving you time to get comfortable with your Royal Enfield and ease into the Indian riding style. This first leg takes us along the scenic Malabar Coast, where palm-fringed beaches, fishing villages, and the sparkling Arabian Sea set the tone for the journey ahead.
As we ride, you’ll notice the Christian heritage of the region — whitewashed churches, colorful shrines, and colonial architecture add charm to the route. The pace is easy, perfect for enjoying the sights, sounds, and small roadside surprises Kerala has to offer.
We reach Alleppey by afternoon, known for its tranquil backwaters. Here, we unwind with a unique overnight stay — either on a traditional houseboat or in a peaceful homestay nestled along the canals. A calm evening, a local meal, and the gentle rhythm of water mark a perfect first day on the road.

Backwaters to Kumily – Into the Spice Hills 150km ride
Today’s ride takes us inland, leaving the calm waters behind as we head toward Kumily, a peaceful town nestled near Periyar National Park. It’s a stunning stretch, winding through lush spice gardens, rolling hills, and dense greenery — the landscape slowly shifting as we approach the majestic Western Ghats.
We begin the day by crossing scenic backwater regions, where coconut palms sway over turquoise canals and local life flows in vibrant color — women in bright saris, fishing boats, and sleepy riverside villages. As the road rises, the air cools and the scent of cardamom, pepper, and clove fills the air.
This stage is a beautiful transition — from tropical lowlands to the spice-covered slopes of the hills. By the time we reach Kumily, you’ll feel like you’ve entered another world.
