Today, we embark on a scenic ride along the majestic Indus River, heading towards Lamayuru, often referred to as the "Moonland" for its unique lunar-like landscapes. Along the way, we’ll make a stop in Alchi to enjoy a delicious lunch and take the opportunity to visit the renowned Alchi Monastery. Dating back to the 10th century, this ancient monastery is a treasure trove of history and spiritual significance. Our journey continues towards Lamayuru, where we’ll settle near the Lamayuru Monastery, a place steeped in history and serenity. This monastery, home to over 200 monks, is where the great scholar Naropa meditated in a cave during the 10th century—a truly inspiring location that resonates with peace and spirituality.
